12 countries, nine dentists....and Dr. Fain rates as #1.....best dentist I have ever been to and I have been to a lot of them....also the hygenist that cleans is a wonder.....Great service, no two hour wait (actually less than 15 minutes with a packed waiting room), and totally painless.....even the injection. Cannot say enough good things about Dr. Fain.

Hygiene/Periodontal Health

The basis of a truly beautiful smile is health, and this is created with excellent oral hygiene. We work with our patients to create routines that can be easily practiced. From our youngest patient to our oldest, we design a plan that works for the individual, based on his or her specific needs and lifestyle. In taking careful measures, we hope to help you and your family experience your best oral health, avoiding pitfalls such as cavities and gum disease.

Brushing and flossing teeth does more than create a bright white smile. The purpose of these tasks is to eliminate the harmful bacteria that can threaten the entire oral structure. Thousands of bacteria exist in every mouth, both good and bad, which thrive on tiny particles of food that can remain at the gum line or between teeth. We teach our patients the vital importance of brushing - elimination of bacteria - and the ways to brush for maximum effect.

In our North Miami dental practice, we regularly check for signs of gum disease, and provide treatment when necessary. On occasion, we may refer a patient to a specialist for advanced procedures.

Two of the measures taken to handle advanced gum disease are root planing and scaling. These procedures are designed to remove plaque and tartar that has built up at and below the gum line, and smooth the surface of the roots. The healthy surface allows the gum tissue to better adhere to the tooth.

Oral cancer screenings

Screenings for oral cancer are now becoming part of routine dental examinations. Our office is equipped with the tools and technology that allow us to visualize potential problems early, thus halting the progression of oral cancer through early treatment.

The oral cancer screening process is quick and painless, performed with ultraviolet light. The application of this light or similar technology highlights areas of concern that would not be visible to the naked eye.

Lifestyle habits can put one at an increased risk for oral cancer. Those who smoke or consume alcohol regularly are encouraged to maintain frequent dental check-ups.

We strive to help you enjoy your best oral health.
