12 countries, nine dentists....and Dr. Fain rates as #1.....best dentist I have ever been to and I have been to a lot of them....also the hygenist that cleans is a wonder.....Great service, no two hour wait (actually less than 15 minutes with a packed waiting room), and totally painless.....even the injection. Cannot say enough good things about Dr. Fain.

Dentures/Partial Dentures

Although dental implants are highly recommended for the replacement of teeth, dentures are still a viable solution. Denture appliances may be fitted to replace all teeth, or just a few with a partial denture. A partial denture is similar to a dental bridge, used to span the space left by a lost tooth or teeth. It is possible to remove dentures at home for cleaning and in our office for dental check-ups.

At Fain Dental Arts, you may choose from conventional full dentures or immediate full dentures.

Conventional full dentures are placed after gum tissue has healed from any extractions. The healing process can take a few months to complete, during which time you will be without teeth. After gum tissue has healed, measurements are taken for the creation of the denture.

Immediate dentures are placed the same day the teeth are removed, allowing you to maintain a natural appearance. Immediate dentures are designed with measurements taken before teeth are removed. While there is the benefit of leaving our office with your new denture appliance, there will be the necessity to return after gum tissue has fully healed, as the denture will need to be adjusted as the jawbone and gum tissue change shape.

Whether conventional or immediate dentures are chosen, it takes time for the muscles of the mouth to become accustomed to this new appliance. Some report feeling that a new denture feels bulky, or leaves little room for the tongue, or that their denture feels loose.

During the time the mouth is adapting to its new structure, speaking and eating might be challenging. It helps to start out eating softer foods that do not require a lot of chewing, especially with immediate dentures, as the gums may be a bit sore. As the tongue and cheeks adapt to the new dentures, they will relax and work normally. Within several weeks, eating and speaking will be more comfortable and natural.

Dentures are an appliance that rests on the gums. With the consistent changes that occur to the jawbone in the absence of natural teeth, dentures may never feel fully secure. To remedy the common issues that are associated with conventional dentures, we suggest an implant-supported denture, which anchors to a few dental implants for stability.
