Meet Dr. David Skaff: Your Trusted Miami Dentist with a Heart for Compassionate Care

Early Life and Education

Dr. David Skaff was born on an Air Force base in Hutchinson, Kansas, during his father’s military service in the Korean War. Raised with strong values of service and compassion, Dr. Skaff pursued his undergraduate studies at Florida State University, graduating in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He later earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the West Virginia School of Dentistry in 1989.

Though he always knew he wanted to help people, the realization that dentistry uniquely blends science and artistry inspired him to pursue it as a lifelong profession.

Early Career and Family Legacy

After dental school, Dr. Skaff began practicing at a dental office in North Miami alongside his father, Dr. Orlando Skaff, and his brother. Working closely with his father was formative—not only for learning technical skills but also for shaping his philosophy of care.

His father used to say, “I’ve never seen a tooth walk into my office, but a person did,” a phrase that deeply influenced Dr. Skaff’s patient-first approach. He carries that legacy forward, treating people—not just teeth—with empathy and respect.

Advanced Training and Professional Growth

Committed to continuous learning, Dr. Skaff completed the Maxi Course in Dental Implantology at the Medical College of Georgia, expanding his expertise in advanced procedures. He is also a proud member of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.

From 2001 to 2005, Dr. Skaff studied at the renowned Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, Florida, where he refined his comprehensive and relationship-based dentistry skills.

Life Outside the Office

Dr. Skaff enjoy skiing and cheering on their favorite football teams—the FSU Seminoles and the Miami Dolphins.
