All-on-4 Dental Implants

The loss of just one tooth takes a toll on your appearance, comfort, and confidence. So, facing the loss of all your teeth in an upper or lower arch of your smile can be overwhelming.

For decades, millions of patients with tooth loss have turned to removable dentures for a solution. However, while they solve the aesthetic issue and restore some function, dentures come with several drawbacks.

At Fain Dental Arts in Miami, however, we’ve combined the best of dentures with state-of-the-art dental implants to bring our patients a solution that addresses the aesthetic and functional challenges associated with tooth loss.

What Are All-on-4 Dentures?

You may have friends who’ve gotten a dental implant and been thrilled with the results, but did you know we can use multiple implants to hold dentures in place?

Replacing an entire arch of teeth with individual dental implants for each missing tooth is not an optimal solution because it can be costly and involve extended healing times. The placement of a few implants at strategic points along your jaw, however, allows us to attach full upper or lower denture that connects to the implants to hold it firmly in place.

The process is referred to as “All-on-4” because we can place as few as four implants in an arch to support a full denture or fixed dental bridge as they are also known.

How Do I Know If I’m a Candidate for All-on-4 Implant Dentures?

Dr. Fain, Dr. Skaff, and Dr. Fien are all highly trained in dental implantology, and the first step is to meet with them to talk to you about your concerns and learn what your options are.

They will evaluate your current oral health and help you determine if All-on-4 dentures are the best solution for you. We use state-of-the-art 3-D cone beam imaging (CBCT) at our Miami dental office to analyze the structure of your jaw and the bone into which we plan to place the implant.

What Are the Benefits of Choosing All-on-4 Dentures?

  • No food restrictions – Trying to chew with removable dentures is a challenge. But since we anchor your dentures in your jaw with implants, there are no food restrictions, and you can continue to enjoy your favorite dishes.
  • Easy maintenance – Your All-on-4 dentures require no special daily maintenance other than routine brushing and flossing.
  • Better for your oral health – Jaw bone deterioration is an unfortunate side effect of tooth loss because there’s no root to stimulate healthy regeneration of bone. However, adding dental implants continues the process and keeps your jaw bone strong and healthy.
  • Improved appearance – Tooth loss eliminates support for your facial muscles and results in a sunken appearance. But the addition of an All-on-4 denture fills out your face for a more youthful appearance.

Are All-on-4 Dentures and Teeth-in-a-Day the Same Thing?

You may alternately hear All-on-4 dentures referred to as Teeth-in-a-Day. The name refers to the fact that we place the implants and attach a temporary prosthetic during the same visit.

While the implants are left to heal for several months, our dentists work with you to design your final denture, so it enhances your smile and looks as close to real teeth as possible. Teeth Express and Pro Arch are other brand names that refer to the same type of procedure.
